Manjunath Ningappa Pujari 6 pm to 9 am, offers free rides in Auto to those in emergency situations 



"His auto also serves as an ambulance to the needy at night especially Ashray foundation. As per him he can be called anytime of the night for emergencies and doesn't refuse." That's not all, Pujari even gives part of his salary every month to the Ashray Foundation.

"When I drop a customer at a hospital, I feel that I am making a difficult time slightly more convenient, and that I am contributing to society in some way. Hence, I do not insist that such customers pay for the ride. I feel blessed to serve a customer at a critical time in their life," says Mr Pujari, who works as a supervisor with an infrastructure and financial services company during the day.

We need more people like Pujari! What an inspiration!

How to Treat Excess Stomach Gas and Bloating
A large percentage of the population suffers from stomach gas from time to time, yet it is rarely discussed, usually because we're too embarassed to say we're gassy. But folks, we all are sometimes, and there's absolutely no reason to be ashamed of it. It is a very uncomfortable feeling, and can cause real pain.

This is a problem that is becoming more prevalent due to modern food groups which encrouage the build-up of gas in our system. But there are easy way to fix this in your own home.
Causes of stomach gas build-up
- The main cause is poor digestion, meaning some undigested food remains in our colon and get fermented by the bacteria that live there. This process releases gas that builds up in our abdomen. Unfortunately, the most healthy and fiber rich foods are the ones hardest to digest, and so will often lead to gas build-up.
- Intolerance to certain types of food can also cause this effect.
- Constipation will often lead to excess gas.
Symptoms of stomach gas:
- Frequent passing of gas
- Feeling as if bloated
- Loss of appetite
- Abdomen feels 'tight'
- Belching
- Jabbing chest pain
Getting rid of the excess stomach gas
1. Lie Down or try different positions
Lie down and keep your head elevated, this position will help pass the discomfort you are feeling in a few minutes. Remain in this position until the discomfort you're feeling is gone. You can lie down on your side, but still keeping the head elevated.
If you are in distress, another position you can take is kneels on your head with your rear in the end, this will encourage the passing of gas from your system.
When you are trying to push the gas out of your abdomen, make sure to do so on an empty stomach or over a toilet.
2. Drink more
Having excess gas in your stomach is usually a sign of poor digestion, drinking plenty of fluid helps moving the undigested remnants of the food from the colon. This is especially true when we eat a lot of fiber rich food, when the undigested food particles accumulate in the colon. So drink up.
Hot liquids help the most, try herbal tea, but even coffee will help get that gas along.

Mustard is said to decrease the amount of gas in the body as well as preventing its build-up, so try and add it to one of your daily meals.
4. Baking Soda
Aid a spoonful of baking soda to a cup of hot water and mix well. Drink this every couple of hours for quick relief.
5. Add Indian spices
Turmeric, cumin and cardamom are known to aid good digestion.
6. Add ginger
Adding ginger to your food or chew on the root will offer quick relief and aid your digestion.

7. Certain fruit can help.
Drink lemon juice or other citrus fruit juice. The papaya is a wonderful fruit to eat when bloated, and will help you get rid of that gas the fastest.
8. Avoid carbonated drinks
Consuming carbonated drinks is a big no no if you want to decrease the amount of gas in the body. Drinking these will lead to an increase in gas and may also lead to chest pain.

Treating Insomnia Without Medications
Deep Breathing Exercises
Deep breathing is a relaxation technique that can be self-taught.
Deep breathing releases tension from the body and clear the mind, improving both physical and mental wellness.
We tend to breathe shallowly or even hold our hold our breath when we are feeling anxious. Sometimes we are not even aware of it. Shallow breathing limits your oxygen intake and adds further stress to your body, creating a vicious cycle. Breathing exercises can break this cycle.
The importance of good posture cannot be overstated. While sitting, we tend to slouch, which compresses the diaphragm and other organs, resulting in shallow breathing. Slouching also strains muscles in the neck and back. It is helpful to sit in a chair with good back support to avoid fatigue that leads to slouching.
How to do Deep Breathing Exercises:
Sit up straight. (Do not arch your back) First exhale completely through your mouth. Place your hands on your stomach, just above your waist. Breathe in slowly through your nose, pushing your hands out with your stomach. This ensures that you are breathing deeply. Imagine that you are filling your body with air from the bottom up.
Hold your breath to a count of two to five, or whatever you can handle. It is easier to hold your breath if you continue to hold out your stomach.
Slowly and steadily breathe out through your mouth, feeling your hands move back in as you slowly contract your stomach, until most of the air is out. Exhalation is a little longer than inhalation.
After you get some experience you don't need to use your hands to check your breathing.
You can also do the above breathing exercise lying on your back. Deep breathing exercises can help you to relax before you go to sleep for the night, or fall back asleep ifyou awaken in the middle ofthe night. You can also practice deep breathing exercises standing e.g. while sitting in traffic, or standing in a lineup at the grocery store. If you are really tense and feel as if you are holding your breath, simply concentrate on slowly breathing.

KEEP WALKING
Walking 30 minutes a day cuts the rate of people becoming diabetic by more than half and it cuts the risk of people over 60 becoming diabetic by almost 70 percent.
Walking cuts the risk of stroke by more than 25 percent.
Walking reduces hypertension. The body has over 100,000 miles of blood vessels. Those blood vessels are more supple and healthier when we walk.
Walking cuts the risk of cancer as well as diabetes and stroke.
Women who walk have a 20 percent lower likelihood of getting breast cancer and a 31 percent lower risk of getting colon cancer.
Women with breast cancer who walk regularly can reduce their recurrence rate and their mortality rate by over 50 percent.
The human body works better when we walk. The body resists diseases better when we walk, and the body heals faster when we walk.
We don't have to walk a lot. Thirty minutes a day has a huge impact on our health.
Men who walk thirty minutes a day have a significantly lower level of prostate cancer. Men who walk regularly have a 60 percent lower risk of colon cancer.
For men with prostate cancer, studies have shown that walkers have a 46 percent lower mortality rate.
Walking also helps prevent depression, and people who walk regularly are more likely to see improvements in their depression.
In one study, people who walked and took medication scored twice as well in 30 days as the women who only took the medication. Another study showed that depressed people who walked regularly had a significantly higher level of not being depressed in a year compared to depressed people who did not walk. The body generates endorphins when we walk. Endorphins help us feel good.
Walking strengthens the heart. Walking strengthens bones.
Walking improves the circulatory system.
Walking generates positive neuro chemicals. Healthy eating is important but dieting can trigger negative neurochemicals and can be hard to do.

And research shows that fit beats fat for many people. Walking half an hour a day has health benefits that exceed the benefits of losing 20 pounds.
When we walk every day, our bodies are healthier and stronger. A single 30 minute walk can reduce blood pressure by five points for over 20 hours.
Walking reduces the risk of blood clots in your legs.
People who walk regularly have much lower risk of deep vein thrombosis.
People who walk are less likely to catch colds, and when people get colds, walkers have a 46 percent shorter symptom time from their colds.
Walking improves the health of our blood, as well. Walking is a good boost of high density cholesterol and people with high levels of HDL are less likely to have heart attacks and stroke.
Walking significantly diminishes the risk of hip fracture and the need for gallstone surgery is 20 to 31 percent lower for walkers.
Walking is the right thing to do. The best news is that the 30 minutes doesn't have to be done in one lump of time. Two 15 minute walks achieve the same goals. Three 10 minute walks achieve most of those goals.
We can walk 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes at night and achieve our walking goals.
Walking feels good. It helps the body heal. It keeps the body healthy. It improves our biological health, our physical health, our psychosocial health, and helps with our emotional health. Walking can literally add years entire years to your life.

Open Heart
The heart is like a flower – unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world. The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit.
Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. It is a courage which comes only when we realise that no one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do. They may hurt our body, but if we have realised we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us, if we so decide. Little by little, practice opening your heart to those you think have hurt you. Realise it wasn't them that hurt you, it was yourself. And it taught you not to trust and you closed your heart.
A closed heart is in need of opening. And when you do, you will have begun to heal yourself.
