My bet is, these 15 stunning images may just convince you as to why Slovakia should be high atop your list of places to visit.

The historical Devín Castle can be found in the nation's capital of Bratislava. The first known Catholic church of the Romain Ruins was identified here. 7) Levoča

The beautiful town of Levoča is located in the eastern part of the country, and is part of the World Hertiage Sites. Many of the buildings in Levoča date as far back as to the Renaissance period. The main sites I'd recommend seeing are the Roman Catholic Church of St. James, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Old Town Hall.

The legendary Orava Castle can be found on a rock formation, which stands about 112 meters or 367 feet. The castle overlooks the Orava river, in the village of Oravský Podzámok. It is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in the country.

9) Žilina

Žilina features some of the most beautiful national parks of the country, and is based in the northern parts of the country. 11) Trenčín

The beautiful city of Trenčín can be found along the Váh River valley, which is not too far from the Czech border. The mountain village of Donovaly lies in the central part of the Banská Bystrica Region, and is renowned for hosting its traditional dogsled racing championships. 14) Banská Bystrica SNP Square

The old town of Banská Bystrica can be found along the Hron River, near the Low Tatras.
