Sai-Aid on Wheels: Bike ambulance flagged off in Thiruvananthapuram; launch across Kerala on cards :-
After the launch of 'Sai-Aid on Wheels' on Saturday in the city SSSO National president Nimish Pandya said, 50 such vehicles are planned for launch from Thiruvananthapuram to Alappuzha in about two months. The emergency free bike ambulance service will reach the site within 10 minutes and provide basic first aid to the victim till the four-wheeler ambulance arrives. Every day 11 people die in road accidents in Kerala and 150 persons get injured, so such timely free emergency service will help save the lives.
"It is planned to extend Sai-Aid on wheels across the state and to other states in the country. In addition, it is planned to adopt 900 rural schools across India in about three months as part of Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi project and about 672 schools have been adopted. It is planned to adopt 54 schools in Kerala as part of our philanthropic activities," Nimish Pandey said. "This is an unregistered organisation and all interested in voluntary service have joined," he said. It has offered treatment and surgery cost for over 35,000 patients including 3000 cardiac patients in Kerala," he said.
"We are ensuring regular supply of free medicines and food packets to 14 cancer patients in Moozhivada village in Aruvikkara panchayat village. We have adopted 15 children there whose complete education will be ensured with regular food packets to family members," he said. Further the aim is to make a total litigation free village through Sai Neethi and 16 advocates are working in the village, SSSO district president V Unnikrishnan said. For Sai-Aid on Wheels service, the one rolled out in the city will soon have a helpline number for public and for that government approval is awaited, he said.
