[www.keralites.net] Fwd: hummingbird refuses to leave the side of Rex, the dog that rescued her from the bottom of a tree

'She has a total crush on him': Adorable hummingbird refuses to leave the side of Rex, the dog that rescued her from the bottom of a tree

  • Rex, a rescue dog, found the Hummingbird close to death on a walk
  • The dog's owner, Ed Gernon, nursed the bird back to health
  • Rex and 'Hummer', as she is now know, are inseparable

Up until last year, Rex was a dangerous, feral dog.

After he was rescued by California man Ed Gernon, Rex calmed down and settled into domestic life.

So settled did he become, Rex even rescued an animal himself - a hummingbird that had fallen from a tree and was close to death near Gernon's home in Whittier.

Now the two are inseparable, mostly because 'Hummer', as she is known, refuses to leave Rex's side, even going as far as to share a water bowl with him

Best pals: Hummer is constantly circling around Rex, who does not seem to mind the attention

'It was this little creature,' Gernon told CBS LA, adding that he believed the bird was dead because it was covered in ants.

'This fragile creature that the whole world wanted to kill and (Rex) was trying to protect her, so I thought I'd go the distance.'

Gernon nursed Hummer back to health, hand-feeding her a sugar syrup he made, and now she is an important part of the household.

'Wherever he was, she wanted to be close by,' Gernon wrote on a YouTube video of the two.

'She even started bathing in his water bowl, killing time while he ate before she'd start playing with him again. So strange, but amazing.'

Sharing is caring: The dog and the bird have become so close that they even share a water bowl
Sharing is caring: The dog and the bird have become so close that they even share a water bowl

However, all good things must end, and Gernon is aware that Hummer will not be with them for too much longer.

'It's time for her to start mating and I keep leaving the doors and windows open thinking she'll leave,' he told CBS.

All better: Gernon nursed Hummer - who was close to death, back to health, hand-feeding her a sugar syrup

[www.keralites.net] Revenge of an Ex-Wife:Hilarious!

This is amazingly hilarious....

Revenge of an Ex-wife ..

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.

On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods.

She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days.

Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything....  cleaning, mopping and airing the place out.

Vents were checked for dead rodents and carpets were steamed.

Air Fresheners were hung everywhere.

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked.

People stopped coming over to visit.

Repairmen refused to work in the house.

The maid quit.

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house.

Word got out and eventually even the local realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going.

He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back.

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad t he smell was, he agreed on a Price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home . . . . . . .

Including the CURTAIN RODS....

I LOVE A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU?????

Yes it is very beautiful. I love to listen to this raga Hamsanandhi. I get similar feelings when I listen to Atana too.. A gambheerya raga.
A raga that instantly sets off a meditative and intense mood when handled is Hamsanandhi. This raga is easy to identify even for an untrained listener.

[www.keralites.net] A GOOD THOUGHT (GOOD MORNING)

We Must Go Thru The Storm to Appreciate The Sunshine!

 'I Hope You Dance... '
This was written by an 83-year-old woman to her friend.
*The last line says it all. *

Dear Bertha,

I'm reading more and dusting less. I'm sitting in the yard and admiring the view without fussing about the weeds in the  garden. I'm spending more time with my family and friends and less time working.

Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savor, not to endure. I'm trying to recognize these moments now and cherish them.

I'm not "saving" anything; we use our good china and crystal for every special event such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped, or the first Amaryllis blossom.

I wear my good blazer to the market. My theory is if I look prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries. I'm not saving my good perfume for special parties, but wearing it for clerks in the hardware store and tellers at the bank.

"Someday" and "one of these days" are losing their grip on my vocabulary. If it's worth seeing or hearing or doing, I want to see and hear and do it now

I'm not sure what others would've done had they known they wouldn't be here for the tomorrow that we all take for granted. I think they would have called family members and a few close friends. They might have called a few former friends to apologize and mend fences for past squabbles. I like to think they would have gone out for a Chinese dinner or for whatever their favorite food was.

I'm guessing; I'll never know.

It's those little things left undone that would make me angry if I knew my hours were limited. Angry because I hadn't written certain letters that I intended to write one of these days. Angry and sorry that I didn't tell my husband and parents often enough how much I truly love them. I'm trying very hard not to put off, hold back, or save anything that would add laughter and luster to our lives. And every morning when I open my eyes, tell myself that it is special.

Every day, every minute, every breath truly is a gift from God.

If you received this, it is because someone cares for you. If you're too busy to take the few minutes that it takes right now to forward this, would it be the first time you didn't do the little thing that would make a difference in your relationships? I can tell you it certainly won't be the last.

Take a few minutes to send this to a few people you care about, just to let them know that you're thinking of them.

"People say true friends must always hold hands, but true friends don't need to hold hands because they know the other hand will always be there."

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well

[www.keralites.net] Krishna's Flute

                      www.FunAndFunOnly.net

This is a beautiful story about Krishna's flute 🎺

🍁 Everyday Krishna would go in the garden and say to all the plants, "I love you".
🍁The plants were very happy and responded saying "Krishna, we love You too".
🌹One day Krishna rushed quickly into the garden very alarmed. 🍁He went to the bamboo plant and the bamboo plant asked, 🌹"Krishna, what´s wrong?" Krishna said
🍁"I have something to ask you, but it is very difficult". The bamboo said "Tell me: if I can, I will give it to you".
🌹So Krishna said "I need your life. I need to cut you".
🍁The bamboo thought for a while and then said "You don´t have any other choice.
🍁You don't have any other way?"
🌹Krishna said,
🌹"No, no other way". And it said "OK" and gave himself up.
🌹So Krishna cut the bamboo n made holes in it, and each time, he carved the holes, the bamboo was crying in pain .
🌹Krishna made a beautiful flute out of it n this flute was with him all the time.
🍁24 hours a day, it was with Krishna. Even the Gopis were jealous of the flute.
🍁They said, "Look, Krishna is our Lord,
but yet we get to spend only some time with him.
He wakes up with you, He sleeps with you,
all the time you
are with him".
🍁Gopis asked the bamboo, "Tell us your secret. What secret do you have, that the Lord treasures you so much ?"
🍁And the bamboo said "The secret is that,        I gave myself up, and he did whatever was right for me, in the process I had to undergo a lot of pain.
🍁And the Lord does whatever he wants with me, whenever he wants with me and however 🌹he wants with me.
🍁I have just become His instrument".
🍁So this is complete surrender: where God can do whatever He wants with you,
🍁You whenever He wants, as He wants.    🍁Trust Him completely and have faith in Him and always think you are in His hands what can go wrong ??
🍁This is Samarpan or Surrender.🌹🌹
