[www.keralites.net] 11 Supercars You've Never Heard Of That Will Feed Your Need For Speed

Top Five Indian actresses Who Own Luxury Cars

While Ferraris and Lamborghinis may jostle for space on the walls of teenage boys' bedrooms across the world, there are some other, more stunning supercars in the world. Yes, there are. Some exotic machinery that is put together by specialist car makers with performance rivalling the big boys of the car world. These machines are the stuff of what automotive wet dreams are made of. You have been warned.

1. Ascari KZ1

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Spanish car maker Ascari made only 50 units of the KZ1. The best bit about buying the car though is that owners get to explore the true potential of the car at companys Ascari Race Resort in south of Spain. Also the 5.0-litre V8 is no slouch around the track

2. Caparo T1

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
The T1 looks like a cross between a Formula 1 racer and a Le Mans prototype. It only weighs 470 kg and with its naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V8 producing 575bhp, the T1 can accelerate to a 100km/h from a standing start in 2.5seconds. That time gives even the mighty Veyron sleepless nights.

3. Gumpert Apollo

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
With a Griffin for a company logo, you can only expect mental performance, and the Gumpert Apollo doesnt disappoint. Fighter jet like looks with fighter jet like speed, the Apollo is one of the few supercars that could be driven to a track and raced. It is constructed out of exotic materials like chromoly frame and carbon fibre body panels, that are only now becoming de rigueur.

4. Hennessey Venom GT

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
American muscle meets European handling in the Venom GT. Hennessey picked one of the sweetest handling chassis in the form of Lotus Exige and put a big block GM V8 engine in the tiny engine bay. Oh and they turbocharged it for good measure which means it produces 1200bhp of power. And just so you know, the Venom GT holds the record for the quickest 0-300km/h time of 13.63 seconds.

5. Morgan Aero 8

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Classic lines meet new age mechanicals and handling in the Aero 8. It was Morgans first all new design in more than 50 years, who had till then been producing cars made of wood and sheet metal. Powered by a 4.8-litre V8 engine, the Aero 8 is peculiar in not having an anti-roll bar, something that most sports car get as standard.

6. Noble M600

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
One of the purest supercars ever made, the M600 has next to no driver assistance systems, which makes it one of the toughest cars to drive fast. And fast it goes, thanks to the Yamaha derived 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine, which can be ordered with as much as 650bhp on offer.

7. SSC Ultimate Aero

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
You have to love the Americans. The Aero was designed to be the fastest production car in the world by being given a 6.9-litre V8 petrol engine. It did achieve the feat by going 412.2 km/h, but the record only lasted a few days since Guinness World Records disqualified it. At least they tried.

8. Saleen S7

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Another American supercar, the Saleen S7 got its power from a 7.0-litre big block Ford V8 that made a hefty 550 bhp of power. But that wasnt enough for Saleen. So it added two turbochargers to the engine, and ended up with nearly 750bhp of power and a tire shredding 950 Nm of torque.

9. Tramontana

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Available as a single or twin seater, with the passenger seating right behind the driver as in a fighter plane, the Tramontanas open wheel racer look is quiet unique. The fact that it is powered by a 5.5-litre V12 engine making 720bhp, it might as well be a full blown racer. It is also constructed out of exotic materials like carbon fibre and magnesium.

10. Wiesmann GT MF5

Produced in lesser numbers than some Ferraris, German car maker Wiesmann produced only 55 units of MF5. A BMW 4.4-litre engine powers the MF5, but its USP is the classic muscle car stance with a long bonnet and short tail. And since its German, it can go fast around a track than any traditional muscle car.

11. Zenvo ST1

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net
Danish supercar maker Zenvo took the world by storm, when it unveiled the ST1. It has more power than youll ever need, but 1,104 bhp will win you any and all bar arguments. Also, the ST1s 6.8-litre V8 has been turbocharged and supercharged. Talk about overkill!
