  Nath temples: Do you all of them?   Siddhanath Siddhanath is believed to be incarnation of Lord Shiva. Siddhanath is patron god of adjacent regions and one of among several regional protective (Kshetrapal) gods of Maharashtra.   Jagannath The Jagannath Temple in Puri is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath and located in the coastal town of Puri in the state of Odisha, India.   The temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimages that a Hindu is expected to make in one's lifetime.   Amarnath   Amarnath cave is dedicated to Shiva. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft), at a distance of about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town.   The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism, and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism.   Badrinath Badrinath was re-established as a major pilgrimage site by Adi Shankara in the ninth century. In earlier days, pilgrims used to walk hundreds of miles to visit Badrinath temple.   The temple of Badrinath is also a sacred pilgrimage site for Vaishnavites. Badrinath is also gateway to several mountaineering expeditions headed to mountains like Nilkantha. Kedarnath Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to the god Shiva and is located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand in India.   Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open only between the end of April (Akshay trutya) to Kartik Purnima (the autumn full moon, usually November) every year.   Somnath The Somnath Temple located in the Prabhas Kshetra near Veraval in Saurashtra, is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of the God Shiva. Somnath means "The Protector of (the) Moon God". The Somnath Temple is known as "the Shrine Eternal", having been destroyed many times by various kings and rulers. Most recently it was rebuilt in November 1947, when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel visited the area for the integration of Junagadh and mooted a plan for restoration.   Jagannath The Jagannath Temple in Puri is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath and located in the coastal town of Puri in the state of Odisha, India.   The temple is an important pilgrimage destination for many Hindu traditions, particularly worshippers of Krishna and Vishnu, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimages that a Hindu is expected to make in one's lifetime   Balaknath Temple has a trust namely 'Sidh Baba Balak Nath Temple Trust' that keeps a watch on the functioning of the temple. Melas are organized during Holi festival.   Every Sunday is considered auspicious day of Babaji and consequently attracts huge devotees on this day.   Food becomes available for public at about 11 a.m. Food in 'Langar' can also be had in evening after the prayer.   Tungnath Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district.   Tungnath temple is the highest Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the second in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars.   Kailashnath Kailashnath Temple is a famous temple and is one of the 34 monasteries and temples known collectively as the Ellora Caves, extending over more than 2 km, that were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff in the complex located at Ellora, Maharashtra.   Gorakhnath The Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur is named after the Guru Gorakhnath who attained prosperity in this city and also influenced devotees with his teachings. It is said that this temple is erected at the spot where Gorakhnath did meditation in Treta Yug. This apart, in the records of the temple it is revealed that the Gorakhpur structure and shape was transformed over the period of time.   Rudranath It is one of the panch Kedars. The face of Lord Shiva is worshipped at Rudranath temple in a natural rock temple as Neelkantha Mahadeva.   Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Neelkantha. The temple is situated amid thick forest at a height 2286 mtrs.   Alakhnath The Alakha Nath Temple is the headquarters of the Anand Akhara order of Naga sannyasins.   The temple complex beyond the inner gate consists of several buildings with a kind of courtyard in the center.   Large and small shrines are there, some within buildings and some outside. Devotees go from one shrine to the next to make offerings and prayers.   Garibnath Nath sampradaya in Himachal Pradesh was started by Guru Dattatreyta and there were nine nathas and eighty four sidhas. Among the nine nathas, one is known 'GARIB NATH'.   There are two places which pertain to Baba Garib Nath ji and one of these is at Raipur Maidan in the Govind Sagar lake; the other place is the cave (gufa) of Garib Nath in the Gahra village in the same district Una of H.P.   Baidyanath Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also known as Baba dham and Baidyanath dham is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas; the most sacred abodes of Shiva.   It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India.   It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples. Pareshnath The temple is dedicated to Pareshnath, who was the 23rd Jain Tirthankar, and he is worshipped by the Jains, and this is one of the most important Jain temples in Kolkata.   The place is famous all over that is why devout Jains from distant parts of India flock to the Temple precincts throughout the year.   Radhunath Sharing its propinquity to the Nakki Lake, The temple stands as a rich heritage of century old Mewar culture. Constructed way back in 14th century, it is a famous pilgrim place for Hindu religious devotees. The temple enshrines the idol of Shri Raghunath Ji, believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu who came on earth to save his followers from natural calamities.   Pashupatinath Though not in India, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.   The temple serves as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath. The temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.   Mahendranath Mahendranath temple is situated in the Chhapra Distt. of Bihar.   Nainath Nainath temple is situated in Banskho, Rajasthan and devotees frequently this place.   Baijnath According to the legend, it is believed that during the Treta Yug, Ravana in order to have invincible powers worshiped Lord Shiva in the Kailash.   In the same process, to please the almighty he offered his ten heads in the havan kund. Influenced by this extra ordinary deed of the Ravana, the Lord Shiva not only restored his heads but also bestowed him with powers of invincibility and immortality.   Eknath Sant Eknath Maharaj Samdhi Mandir is situated on "Krushnakamal Tirth" on Godavari river bank.   This temple was built in Shri Ramchandra`s period. This temple was worship place and residence of Sant Eknath Maharaj . In this temple the famous VijayiPandurang`s idol was made of "Panchdhatu".   In temple premiceses their is one big "Ranjan", "Sahan" two poles called as "Udhav Khamb" "Puran Khamb".   Gopinath This temple is situated in Imphal and is one of the biggest temples in Manipur worshipped by more than 10 lakh devotes every year.   Loknath Close to Jagannath temple lays the 11th century Lokanatha temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to history the lingam in this temple was established by Lord Rama.   The unique feature is that the shivalinga is always under water which substantiates the legend that Goddess Ganga flows through the top of the shivalinga as a stream.   Kashi Viswanath Kashi Vishwanath Temple is most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, and the holiest existing place of Hindus, where at least once in life a Hindu is expected to do pilgrimage, and if possible, also pour the remains of cremated ancestors on the River Ganges. The temple stands on the western bank of the holy river Ganges, and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Shiva temples.   Nrusinghanath Sri Nrusinghanath, the great temple of Orissa in India, is situated at the foot hills of Gandhamardhan Hill in Bargarh. The King of Patnagarh, Baijal Singh Dev, laid the foundation of this historic temple in 1313 A.D.   It is only 45 feet in height, divided into two parts: the first being the seat of the Lord Nrusinghnath, the second alloted to Jagamohan (anti-chamber having 3 gates and each supported by 4 pillars).   Simhanath Simhanath Temple is dedicated to Shiva who is worshipped by Nrisimha, an avatar of Vishnu. The temple has a rekha deula and terraced roof jagamohana of traditional phase of temple style of Kalingan order.   The temple is unique for its sculptural embellishment of both the Saivaite and Vaishnava cult. It is located in the Gopinathpur village, Baramba tehsil of Cuttack district.   Siddhanath Siddhanath is believed to be incarnation of Lord Shiva.
