[www.keralites.net] Forgotten hero Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti 23rd January !

Freedom is not given, it is taken'

One individual may die for an idea; but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives. That is how the wheel of evolution moves on and the ideas and dreams of one nation are bequeathed to the next

Famous Quote By Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose :

You give me your blood and I will give you Independence!
  • As soldiers, you will always have to cherish and live up to the three ideals of faithfulness, duty and sacrifice. Soldiers who always remain faithful to their nation, who are always prepared to sacrifice their lives, are invincible. If you, too, want to be invincible, engrave these three ideals in the innermost core of your hearts.
  • I have no doubt in my mind that our chief national problems relating to the eradication of poverty, illiteracy and disease and the scientific production and distribution can be tackled only along socialistic lines.

  • Nationalism is inspired by the highest ideals of the human race, satyam [the true], shivam [the god], sundaram [the beautiful]. Nationalism in India has ... roused the creative faculties which for centuries had been lying dormant in our people.

  • It is our duty to pay for our liberty with our own blood. The freedom that we shall win through our sacrifice and exertions, we shall be able to preserve with our own strength.

Re: [www.keralites.net]

In this changing society, medias and movies have a vital role in the formation of new generation. But they not consider those things when do one project but they concentrate only on the products what can make more profit. when society
and government arise against those movies, it may be come to change to our expectations. There must have rules to charge against medias especially movies which encourage the youths for antisocial activities. Really they sales the training for cruelty, easy methods to spoil and destroy the beauty and strength of coming generation. If we close our eyes now, we will see more again and again in this small Kerala.

[www.keralites.net] JANUARY 23RD NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE JAYANTHI

DEAR ALL,

JANUARY 23RD NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE JAYANTHI

This world doesnt see, for how much years we live but what we didduring our life span and here is the true hero who made a great impact in the struggle for Independence of our country, and he is none other than the Subhash Chandra Bose. Some people write history with a pen, some by their might, and some simply by virtue of being associated with someone. But if ever there was a man, who wrote history by his blood, courage and sheer determination, it was Subhash Chandra Bose. His motivational leadership inspired thousands of Indians to die for the motherland, and his Indian National Army shook the foundations of the mighty British Empire.

When we speak about our freedom struggle and ask any person..."who got freedom for us?" iam sure 9 in 10 will say Gandhiji. We do accept the fact he was a great motivating force but at the same time we shouldn't forget the other freedom fighters who lost their life for the country fighting against British and one of our hero is Subhash Chandra Bose. While the Gandhi /Nehru faction of Congress has garnered much of the credit for India's freedom struggle, it is important to remember that India's freedom movement was in fact a movement of the masses and there were a number of great leaders with fierce patriotism and great visionary ideas who sacrificed their entire lives for the nation's cause. Let us pray and pay a tribute to all freedom fighters on the occasion of Netaji's birthday.

Today i.e. 23rd January is the 115 th Birthday of Subhash Chandra Bose, the great patriot of India. He was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa. His father Janaki Nath Bose was a famous lawyer and his mother Prabhavati Devi was a pious and religious lady. Subhas Chandra Bose was the ninth child among fourteen siblings. Subhas Chandra Bose was a brilliant student right from the childhood. He was strongly influenced by Swami Vivekananda's teachings. He joined the Indian civil services in England but deeply disturbed by the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre, and returned to India. He was the first Indian to resign from the Indian Civil Service. The Under Secretary of State for India sent for him. Subhash told him, I do not think one can be loyal to the British Raj and yet serve India honestly, heart and soul.

SubhashChandra Bose advocated complete freedom for India, whereas the congress committee wanted it in phases, through a dominion status but Subhas Chandra Bose opposed it, and he asserted that he would be satisfied with nothing short of complete independence for India. Subhas also announced the formation of the Independence League. Subhas Chandra Bose was jailed during Civil Disobedience movement in 1930. He was released in 1931 after Gandhi-Irwin pact was signed. He protested against the Gandhi-Irwin pact and opposed the suspension of Civil Disobedience movement especially when Bhagat Singh and his associates were hanged.

Subhas Chandra Bose was elected president of the Indian National congress twice in 1937 and in 1939, the second time defeating Gandhijis nominee. He brought a resolution to give the British six months to hand over India to the Indians, failing which there would be revolt. There was much opposition to his rigid stand, and he resigned from the post of president and formed a progressive group known as the forward block. During world war-II, India was declared as a warring state. Bose started a mass movement against this and the British promptly imprisoned him. It was in 1941, that Bose suddenly disappeared. In November 1941, his broadcast from German radio sent shock waves amongst the British and electrified the Indian masses.

The Axis powers assured bose military and other help to fight the British. He formed the Indian National army (INA) and a government by the name AZAD HIND GOVERNMENT was declared on the October 21, 1943. 'Netaji was a far-sighted leader and sowed the concept of independent India. He achieved absolute communal harmony in INA through the common salutation of Jai Hind. INA freed the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from the British and were renamed as swaraj and shaheed islands. Delhi chalo (Lets march to Delhi) was the cry of the INA. Unfortunately, Bose, while traveling from Singapore to Tokyo, reportedly died in a plane crash. He was just 48. Though it is widely believed that he was still alive after the air crash not much information could be found about him.

The contribution of Subash Chandra Bose is no less. He has been denied his rightful place in the annals of Indian history. British declared him a war criminal, Congress toed that line for sometime. In Bengal CPM branded him a fascist but now of course that historical blunder has been corrected. Subhash Chandra Bose is one of the few heroes of history who left the deepest impress on the minds of the people of India within a short span of his charismatic life. We can see statues of Netaji in remote villages of Punjab, UP, Harayana, Bihar, Chattisgarh, and MP. Two years before, India Today conducted a poll to find out most popular Indian during the last 100 years. Netaji was found to be second to Bhagat Singh. We Indians still love our hero to be a fighter. He is the real hero who dumped luxury life and gave his life for the freedom.

Subhash Chandra Bose Quotes

Nationalism is inspired by the highest ideals of the human race, satyam [the true], shivam [the god], sundaram [the beautiful]. Nationalism in India has roused the creative faculties which for centuries had been lying dormant in our people.

No real change in history has ever been achieved by discussions.

I have no doubt in my mind that our chief national problems relating to the eradication of poverty, illiteracy and disease and the scientific production and distribution can be tackled only along socialistic lines.

"One individual may die for an idea; but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives. That is how the wheel of evolution moves on and the ideas and dreams of one nation are bequeathed to the next'"

Remember that the greatest crime is to
compromise with injustice and wrong. A true soldier needs both military and
spiritual

As soldiers, you will always have to cherish and live up to the three ideals of faithfulness, duty and sacrifice. Soldiers who always remain faithful to their nation, who are always prepared to sacrifice their lives, are invincible. If you, too, want to be invincible, engrave these three ideals in the innermost core of your hearts.

Fun & Info @ Keralites.net

'There are two important lessons today's youth should learn from Netaji. Firstly, serving the country should be the first duty, rather than just running after lucrative jobs. Secondly, the influence of western countries should not shroud our thinking process,' said Jag Mohan Singh, nephew of revolutionary Bhagat Singh.

Many of us today cannot recognize Netaji's contributions to Indian Independence because we belong to a generation apart. But whatever little we come to know from authentic literature on him is simply awesome. Some half literates distort it even today, but his zeal, patriotism and power to dream is indeed exemplary. I have been his admirer from my childhood; still today his name makes me feel proud to be an Indian.

How great were those patriots, how great was their pride, for those whosacrificed their lives for the motherland. Remember their great sacrifice! Don'twe ever forget their glory,Let us pay our rich tributes to the martyrs.

I paymy humbletribute to thisgreatpersonality on eve of the birthday of the great leader Netaji Subhash Chandra bose,a tribute to him and also to allthose so many unnamed freedom fighters, who were given their priceless life for the supreme cause of the free India. Never forget their sacrifice. Thousands laid down their lives, some onewe never knew nor will ever meet. Let those who came after see to it that these names not be forgotten. Perhaps this tribute of mine won't be able to add anything new or glorious to their life but yet my heart rending love & respect and it shall remain till the last breath.

[www.keralites.net] ::::: M Y D O T S ::::: Gopinath Muthukad

Gopinath Muthukad
Gopinath Muthukad is a magician, escapologist, and stunt performer from Kerala, India. He employs magic as a medium to convey his messages to society. He was born on April 10, 1964 as the youngest son of Kunjunni Nair and Devaki Amma in Kavalamukkatta village near Nilambur. His passion for magic was so intense that he discontinued his lawyer's course to take up magic as a career.

Muthukad founded the first magic academy of Asia at Thiruvananthapuram. He won the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy award in 1995. He is also a winner of the International Merlin Award instituted by the International Magicians' Society.
Magician hails from the agrarian ambience of Nilambur, a village in the Malappuram District of Kerala. Recently he has been selected for the Merlin Award, considered the Oscar in magic, by the world's largest US based magicians' organisation, International Magicians' Society.

Muthukad has a unique motto, 'Magic with a Mission'. Upholding this motto, he has been using magic as a successful tool to spread virtuous ideals among masses. Four national voyages he has undertaken include, Vismaya Bharatha Yathra (15th Aug. to 31st Oct. 2002,) Gandhi Mantra (2nd Oct. to 26th Jan. 05),Vismaya Swaraj Yatra (2nd of Oct 2007 to 3oth of Nov 2007) and his latest voyage is Mission India (2nd Oct 2010 to 30th Nov 2010). The Vismaya Bharatha Yatra was to foster the sense of national integration from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering a distance of 22,500 km by road through 22 States in India. The Gandhi Matra journey was to distribute seven prominent messages of Mahatma Gandhi in 22 States and one Union Territory. The distance traversed was 34,500 km. Gandhi Mantra's worthiness was furthered owing to its foreign stages in countries including UK, France, U.A.E., Qatar, Oman, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Maldives. His mission continued towards the heart of India. His next magical journey Vismay Swaraj Yatra, was supported by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and the Ministry of Defence. As part of this the magical entourage led by magician Muthukad has traveled through the topographical extremities of the Nation by a bus and a lorry. They have staged magical tributes to great martyrs of the 1857 first war of Indian independence. Teachings on the lives and messages of martyrs, Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pandey, Tantia Tope and Birsa Munda were taught through these magic shows. Finally he expanded his thoughts against country's terrorism and violence in the name of Mission India and carried his messages all over India. Mission India is a 60 days magical voyage with the support of Ministry of Defence to abrogate terrorism and violence. The mission marked a poignant curtain raiser on the terrace of Taj Hotel, Mumbai.

He has successfully completed Vismay Swaraj Yatra, a journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari with magic shows reliving the rousing stories of India's freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947. Lives and messages of freedom fighters including Mangal Pandey, Bhagat Singh and Tantia Tope were staged all over India travelling a distance of 24500 kilometers along the geographical, cultural and linguistic diversities of the great Indian sub continent.

It was at 11a.m. on 5 November 2007 that Magician Muthukad and his team set a world record by performing the Indo-China friendship magic show at Nathu La Sikkim, a historic trade corridor 14,400 feet high in the Himalayas. The magic team set this record after battling climatic challenges of low pressure, deficient oxygen and freezing temperatures. His performances have earned him admiration from national leaders of India, including President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Magic Academy, described widely as the first of its kind in Asia, is established and run by him in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. The Magic Academy Research Centre (MARC), the only centre of excellence in magical art, is situated in the government owned KINFRA Film and Video Park  away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If Magic Academy is abode to many a number of modern magic, MARC is famous as a home to heritage magic of India including the Great Indian Rope Trick, the Green Mango Trick, Cups and Balls, Indian Basket and several innovative street magic routines.

His inclination towards innovation and showmanship has transformed him into an icon of imaginative magic. His readiness to break the conventional glass seal to come down from the ivory towers of popularity to use magic as a means for social service has also earned him the unique title: 'Man of Magic'. It was this quality that has prompted him to do more charity work while celebrating the 30th anniversary of his magical career. His boldness to hand down his magical knowledge to discerning youngsters is yet another quality that has gifted him an admirable image - of course one major quality that has also turned a section of his conservationist counterparts envious.
